Two deflagrations occurred following the violation of fire safety rules

The use of heating sources in violation of safety rules caused two explosions in homes. The first case took place in the afternoon of December 1, 2025, in a household in the town of Cupcini, Edineț district. The call to Service 112 was received at 13:24.

According to the recorded information, a solid fuel boiler deflagration occurred in a house, as a result of which the door, the window and partly the material goods inside the boiler room were damaged. There was no fire in the room, and no casualties were reported.

On the spot, the IGSU specialists determined in advance that the incident occurred as a result of non-compliance with security rules. The owner lit the fire in the boiler, but forgot to open the water taps under pressure. About 10 minutes after he left the room, the explosion occurred.

Another case of violation of security rules was registered on December 1, 2025, in a house in Băcioi village, Chisinau municipality. The call to Service 112 was received at 14:18.

According to information, a 66-year-old woman suffered third-degree burns on the surface of her body following an explosion on the stove. She forgot to turn off the stove, and when she was in the utility room and tried to light the fire at the solid fuel boiler, the accumulation of gas caused an explosion. There was no fire in the room. Later, the victim was picked up by the Emergency Medical Service and transported to the hospital for medical care.

in this regard, rescuers and firefighters urge citizens to periodically check the functionality of household equipment and techniques and to properly maintain installations powered by solid fuel or gas. Furthermore, people are asked to ventilate the rooms before lighting the fire, not to leave heating sources unattended and to observe all safety measures to prevent risky situations.

IGSU employees recommend installing smoke and gas detectors in homes, as they allow the quick detection of dangerous leaks and contribute to the prevention of exceptional situations.
