Journalists Accreditation

The information presented was taken from the official page: https://mai.gov.md/ro/acreditare-jurnalisti

To ensure journalists' access to information of public interest, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) grants permanent or temporary accreditations upon request, without discrimination, to journalists and other media representatives. Accredited persons will have priority access to disseminated information and events organized by MIA.

Permanent Accreditation

Permanent accreditation is valid until the end of the current year. Accredited journalists are informed via e-mail about MIA activities and have access to public actions organized by the institution.

To obtain permanent accreditation, complete the application (estimated time: 5 minutes) and submit it along with the following documents:

  • ID-type photograph;
  • copy of the service ID;
  • copy of the identity card.

Documents can be submitted electronically to: presa@mai.gov.md
Phone: +373 67117042
Address: Chișinău, bd. Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt 75, MD-2012.

Limits for permanent accreditation by type of media:

  • central written press: 3 editors and 2 photojournalists;
  • local written press: 1 editor and 1 photojournalist;
  • radio and television stations: 3 editors and 8 operators and technicians;
  • news agencies: 3 editors and 3 photojournalists.

Permanent accreditation is issued within 2 (two) working days from the registration of the application and requires annual renewal.

Temporary Accreditation

Temporary accreditation is valid for one day and allows access to public actions organized by MIA. It is obtained based on a request from the editorial office, signed by the editor-in-chief.

The application is accompanied by the same documents as for permanent accreditation. The application template can be downloaded from the MIA website (estimated completion time: 5 minutes).

Refusal, Withdrawal, or Expiry of Accreditation

The withdrawal or refusal of accreditation must be justified by facts that prevent the normal conduct of MIA activities (not by opinions expressed in the press). In case of withdrawal, the editorial office is informed to obtain accreditation for another journalist.

Accreditation loses validity upon termination of the journalist’s employment contract. The editorial office must inform MIA in writing in such cases or if it wishes to withdraw accreditation.

Journalists with permanent accreditation are requested to apply for renewal at the beginning of each calendar year.

Accreditation of Foreign Journalists

The procedure for accrediting foreign media representatives is regulated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI).
