Through this agreement, the Republic of Moldova, represented by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), has officially joined the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism — the largest European cooperation platform in the field of emergency management. Participation grants Moldova access to European assistance in the event of disasters (including equipment, rescue teams and expertise), while also enabling the country to take part in international missions, training, exercises and experience-sharing initiatives. The agreement strengthens national prevention and response capacities and fully integrates IGSU into the European civil protection network.
