Two children and three matures suffered gas poisoning in Chisinau municipality
Two children and three matures suffered gas poisoning in Chisinau, as a result of the accumulation of gas emanated from the hood of a boiler.
The case was registered on the morning of October 8, 2025, in an apartment in a living block on Nicolae Testemitanu 37, from the Capital.
The call to service 112 was received at 09:24. In order to examine the incident, a team of rescuers intervened on the spot, which established that inside the house there was a gas leak from the boiler inappropriately installed.
Due to the incorrect installation of the installation, the gas was accumulated in the apartment during the night, and the tenants suffered intoxications. People have managed to get out of the house by themselves.
The children were transported to the hospital for medical care, and the mature help were given on the spot. Their condition does not present a danger to life.
in this regard, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations comes with the following recommendations for the prevention of gas poisoning:
Check the gas supply installations periodically and only call on authorized specialists, for repair or assembly.
Ensure the constant ventilation of the rooms, especially those where installations connected to gas (stove, boiler, boiler) work.
Do not block the ventilation grids and do not cover the ventilation holes.
Do not leave unattended gas appliances during operation.
Do not use the stove for heating the house.
if you smell the gas, do not light the fire, do not operate the electric switches, ventilate the room immediately and call the 112 service.
Install gas detectors to be warned in a timely manner.
