Over 14 thousand children from educational institutions have been trained in the field of life -safety bases throughout the country. This week, several children from kindergartens, schools, gymnasiums and high schools participated in practical evacuation exercises and educational lessons on the right behavior in emergency situations.

during these trainings, the children from the educational institutions had the opportunity to participate in practical evacuation exercises, learning how to leave the buildings of the educational institutions in the event of a fire or other risk situations. Under the guidance of the rescuers, they practiced the correct behavior in moments of panic and were familiar with the essential rules for their protection.

Also, firefighters have supported interactive theoretical lessons that explained to children how to behave in case of earthquake, fire or floods, both in the household and open spaces.

The specialists paid special attention to the seasonal risks, and the students were taught to use simple means of intervention, such as fire extinguishers, actively participating in simulating the extinguishing of improvised outbreaks.

An important aspect in the training was also the correct communication with the emergency services by calling the number 112. The children were encouraged to sound calm, to clearly describe the situation and the location, to answer the operators questions and to wait for the indications until the conversation is completed.

Moreover, they were directed to respect simple rules of behavior both inside the buildings, avoiding contact with dangerous objects and in the outer environment, bypassing the unsafe areas, fallen electrical cables or unknown animals.

Also from the beginning of the school year, visits have been carried out in 234 educational institutions with the training a 29 887  of children and 2 553 of teaching staff. At the same time, during the targeted period, evacuation exercises were carried out in 151 institutions with evacuation of 40 294 of students, 2 921 teaching staff and 1 228 auxiliary personnel.

The purpose of these activities is to develop knowledge and skills that will provide children with a quick and adequate reaction in any emergency situation and to strengthen security culture from an early age.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations recommends to parents and teachers to continue the education for security and to actively support this initiative for the good and safety of our children.
