The MAI of the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to regional security and resilience
the head of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, colonel of the internal service Aurel Baciu represented the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova at the SIGSEC 2025 Conference.
The event dedicated to National Security, Emergency Services, Safety and Public Order, took place on November 12, 2025 in Bucharest, Romania and brought together over 300 participants - decision makers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, security experts, leaders from administration, military, industry and research, to discuss security and resilience challenges in an increasingly complex global context.
in his speech, the head of the IGSU emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and digitalization in managing emergencies and strengthening institutional resilience.
The official highlighted the progress of the Republic of Moldova in the process of digital transformation of the national security system and intervention in emergency situations, as well as the commitment to actively contribute to the construction of a common regional security architecture.
He also mentioned that the main objective of the Republic of Moldova is the protection of citizens through a prevention and response system, capable of simultaneously managing several types of emergency situations.
in conclusion, Colonel Aurel Baciu stated that the Republic of Moldova looks confidently to the future, determined to actively contribute to the consolidation of a regional space of safety and resilience.

The SIGSEC 2025 conference was organized by TNT Production Romania in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania and addressed the areas of law enforcement dedicated to ensuring national and border protection, safety and security, as well as areas related to emergency management, healthcare and information technology, all aimed at guaranteeing a safe, prepared and protected environment for civil society.
