Recently, 17 employees from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations participated in the training course dedicated to emergency commanders, held at the Fire Academy in Brno, Czech Republic. The course was organized by the International Cooperation Unit (CEPOL).

The purpose of the activity was the exchange of experience regarding the management of emergency situations and the familiarization of the commanders and heads of the intervention sections within the IGSU with the structure, organization and activity of the intervention services in the Czech Republic.

During the program, colleagues from the Czech Republic demonstrated and explained to IGSU employees the system and methods of coordinating interventions, as well as the principles of analysis and application of decision-making mechanisms used during emergency situations, according to European standards.

The lesson schedule included several essential topics in the field of intervention, among which: analysis of the decision-making process of the intervention commander; training on handling incidents of various proportions; the application of tactical cooperation procedures between the institutions involved in the intervention; crisis coordination methods with local authorities; administrative aspects of incident management.

An essential element of the training was the presentation of the XVR technology simulator – a modern tool used to train future response commanders. It allows the creation of complex virtual scenarios (fires, explosions, chemical spills, road or industrial accidents) and significantly contributes to the development of operative and tactical skills of the force.

during the practical lessons, specialists from the Republic of Moldova and the Czech Republic carried out joint exercises to analyze and manage road accidents and fires. After completing the practical lessons, IGSU firefighters discussed and evaluated the methods and action procedures applied in both states.

The training program carried out in the Czech Republic contributed to the continuous training of the IGSU staff, in accordance with European good practices in the field of management and effective response in emergency situations.
