Warning - yellow rain code: GIES urges the population to comply with safety measures

in the context of the meteorological warning issued by the state hydrometeorological service, between 07 and 08 October 2025, long -term rains will be recorded throughout the country, with water accumulation between 15 and 49 l/m², and isolated can reach values ​​of 50-90 l/m².

in this regard, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations repeatedly urges the population to comply with the following safety measures:

• In case of heavy rainfall, shelter in a safe building or a vehicle away from electric wires and trees that may fall. 
• Supervise the children and do not allow them to be near the flood risk areas. 
• Do not cross the street in front or back of stationed vehicles to prevent accidents. 
• Avoid parking the vehicles under the trees or near the electricity pillars. 
• Do not move through flooded areas, even if the water level seems low. 
• Drivers are asked to reduce speed, keep the safety distance between vehicles and avoid sudden braking. 
• Aquatic basin management are urged to check the condition of dams and water exhaust systems, constantly monitoring them during heavy rains, to prevent spill. 
• People living in slope areas are asked to avoid places of landslide, not to park near watercourses or inclined trees and not approach these areas during rain.
