Two minors suffered burns from a deflagration produced from a propane-butan gas bottle

Two minors suffered thermal burns following a deflagration produced from a propane-butan gas bottle. The incident was recorded on the morning of October 12, 2025, in a household in the village of Grozești, Nisporeni district. The call to service 112 was received at 09:51.

According to the first information, following the explosion, two 12 and 2 -year -old girls suffered 1st and second degree burns on the body surface. The deflagration occurred when the older sister lit a match to set fire to the stove. During the incident, the mother of minors was in another room.

A medical crew intervened on the spot, who took over the children and transported them to the district hospital. At the moment their condition is stable.

following the research carried out by IGSU specialists, it has been previously established that the explosion occurred due to a gas leak, caused by a defective hose.

in this regard, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the parents and those who take care of minors, permanently supervise them and not allow them access to stove, appliances or other sources of fire.

Firefighters also urge people to avoid exploiting gas cylinders in homes. If people opt for the use of cylinders, they must be positioned in metal boxes outside the rooms, at a minimum distance of 5 meters from the entrance to the house. Moreover, the rescuers recommend avoiding the improper exploitation and loading of the cylinders, as well as the use of defective hoses and improvised equipment.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations warns, by broadcasting a social spot, that the use of gas cylinders can cause devastating consequences.
