Two children suffered carbon monoxide poisoning from the operation of a column powered by propane-butane gas. The case took place on December 8, 2025, in a house in the village of Soltoaia, Fălești district. The call to Service 112 was received at 20:45. Here, two minors aged 2 and 6 were poisoned by carbon monoxide emitted from a gas column used for heating water, installed in the bathroom and connected to a propane-butane gas cylinder. A medical crew intervened on the scene, took the children and transported them to the district hospital for intensive medical care.

According to the information, the mother was washing her children in the bathtub, and at some point they began to show signs of intoxication. Hot water was provided by a gas column. There was no ventilation duct in the room, and the window was closed, which favored the accumulation of combustion gases in the bathroom.

following the research carried out by the IGSU specialists, it was previously determined that the poisoning occurred due to non-compliance with the rules for operating the heating sources and the lack of ventilation ducts.

in this context, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations urges people to strictly follow the safety rules when operating heating devices and sources.

Citizens are asked to carefully check gas installations before use and to ensure that vents are open and unobstructed to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to IGSU, in the last 24 hours, rescuers and firefighters intervened in 27 risky situations.
