The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations continues to support the development of volunteerism among firefighters, through their systematic training in the field of intervention in emergency situations.

in this sense, between November 22-23 and 29-30, 2025, a group of 21 volunteer firefighters from the districts of Strășeni, Basarabeasca, Cimișlia and Anenii Noi will participate in an initial training program, aimed at developing their intervention capabilities in various exceptional situations.

The training takes place in the Republican Training Center of the IGSU in Răzeni town, Ialoveni district. The course is structured in two stages, which include both theoretical sessions and practical applications, supported by specialized IGSU trainers.

The course program includes several modules, essential for developing the intervention capabilities of firefighters.

Among the topics covered are the organization and functioning of the territorial fire and rescue services, the particularities of the forces and means used in the missions, as well as the importance of respecting security techniques in carrying out interventions.

At the same time, the volunteers are trained in the correct use of personal protective equipment, the handling of machinery and special vehicles, as well as in the application of extrication techniques following traffic accidents.

Moreover, firefighters are prepared to intervene in the liquidation of flames in the housing sector and to fight fires of dry vegetation, even in difficult conditions, with strong winds and low temperatures.

A special emphasis is placed on the training of the participants in providing medical first aid, with firefighters learning basic procedures aimed at saving lives, as well as providing psychological support to victims.

The purpose of this course is to train volunteer firefighters to intervene promptly in emergency situations until the arrival of specialized teams, which will strengthen the skills of the first response forces.

The trainings are organized by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova in partnership with IGSU within the project "EU4 Moldova Resilience - safe state, resilient communities", aimed at improving civil protection capacities in the Republic of Moldova and ensuring an effective response in emergency situations.

in the Republic of Moldova, at the moment, 22 fire and rescue stations are active, with 161 volunteers ready to intervene in support of the population until the arrival of professional teams.
