The new head of GIES was presented to the number of the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Today, September 18, 2025, the new head of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Aurel Baciu, was presented to the herd by Minister of Internal Affairs, Mrs. Daniella Misail-Nichitin.

The MIA management brought thanks and gratitude to the former head of the IGSU, the colonel of the internal service Oprea Alexandru, for the activity carried out and the projects carried out. The minister stressed that, due to its contribution, the Republic of Moldova became full member within the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.

At the same time, the Ministry's management has expressed the conviction that the new chief will continue to strengthen the processes initiated in the field of preventing and liquidating the consequences of exceptional situations, as well as aligning the intervention procedures and protocols to European standards.

For his part, the new head of IGSU of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Aurel Baciu, thanked for the confidence granted and gave assurances that the institution would continue the achievements in the field of emergency situations and will make sustained efforts for their strengthening.
