The national campaign to prevent risks among children with the generic "Do you know what your child is doing at home now?", launched by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the MAI, continues to be actively carried out in all districts of the country.

in this context, the Criuleni Exceptional Situations Section of IGSU organized an interactive round table with the theme "The child alone at home - what risks are we ignoring?".

The event brought together representatives of educational institutions in the district, specialists in the field of social assistance, family protection, medical personnel, parents and students.

Participants were involved in a practical emergency simulation exercise where students had the opportunity to play the roles of 112 Caller and 112 Operator.

At the end of the exercise, the children had a real experience, initiated a demonstration call to the 112 Service, talking to an operator and learning how to provide information in an emergency.

The students showed seriousness, learned how to convey essential information calmly and correctly, and learned an important lesson that calling 112 is not a game, but an action that can save lives.

At the end of the activity, each participant was challenged to transform the acquired knowledge into personal commitments, leaving a message on the so-called "Safety Wall", which represents a foundation in building a culture of responsibility and risk prevention.

The activities were aimed at raising awareness of the risks to which children left alone at home are exposed and encouraging the involvement of parents and teachers in protecting them, by forming a culture of responsibility and safety in the community.

Also in the context of the "You know what your child is doing at home now?" campaign, in the IGSU Security School premises, a training session was held for 125 children from the whole country, including from socially vulnerable backgrounds and with special educational requirements.

during this training, young people had the opportunity to be aware of the risks of emergency situations and the correct way to react, to understand the importance of following safety rules and to discover the essential role of rescuers and firefighters in protecting life and the community.

At the same time, the children were curious to exploit the technique and equipment of the IGSU, having the opportunity to observe how rescuers and firefighters carry out their daily work and intervene in exceptional situations.

We remind you that the campaign "Do you know what your child is doing at home?" was launched on October 22, 2025 and will run until November 10, 2025.

during this period, the firefighters, but also the partners Service 112 and UNICEF Moldova organize educational and interactive actions, intended for children, parents and teachers, in order to raise awareness of the risks to which children left alone at home are exposed and to promote responsible behavior in emergency situations.
