A man suffered burns on the surface of his body as a result of a fire in Singerei district
in the morning of November 17, 2025, firefighters from the north of the country responded to a fire in a house in the village of Sloveanca, Sîngerei district. The call to Service 112 was received at 08:06.
According to the recorded information, the fire with an open flame was manifested inside the house and partially on the roof. Two fire and rescue crews intervened on the scene. Firefighters succeeded in locating the fire at 09:06 and extinguishing it completely at 09:48.
The fire destroyed the material goods inside the house and about 50% of the roof. The owner of the house, a 67-year-old man, suffered third-degree burns on his lower limbs. He was taken over by the emergency medical crew and transported to the Sîngerei District Hospital, being hospitalized in a serious-stable condition in the reanimation department.
following the investigations, the IGSU specialists determined, preliminarily, that the fire was caused by non-compliance with fire protection rules when using the heating stove. Most likely, the fire started after the stove was overloaded, which ignited nearby combustible materials.
In this sense, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations urges citizens not to overload heating stoves, to check their condition before use and to keep combustible materials at a safe distance, in order to prevent risky situations.
According to IGSU, since the beginning of 2025, 235 fires caused by the operation of heating stoves have been recorded.
in the last 24 hours, firefighters and rescuers intervened in 24 risky situations.
