IGSU participated in the National Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation
The leadership of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations participated yesterday, December 8, 2025, in the National Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Republic of Moldova.
The event brought together government representatives and development partners, with the aim of evaluating progress and strengthening actions in the field of disaster resilience and climate change, in the context of the implementation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy 2024–2030. Also, the meeting aimed to promote a coherent approach between the agendas Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation.
During the workshop, participants reviewed progress made in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, discussing current challenges and opportunities for inter-agency collaboration. At the same time, they worked in interactive sessions and groups to map existing initiatives, identify synergies and establish priority areas for action.
Practical tools for integrating risk analysis into policies were also examined and preliminary elements of a road map developed for the implementation of a joint initiative in the next six months.
during the workshop, the participants emphasized the importance of strengthening capacities for risk analysis, strategic planning and intervention in emergency situations, as well as the need for inter-institutional cooperation in order to reduce vulnerabilities generated by climate change.
The event was organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment.
The participation of IGSU in this workshop was of major importance, as the institution has a key role in risk assessment, emergency management and coordination of interventions at the national level.
