The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations participated in the launch conference of the ROMD00073 project –  ENISA "Enhancing the Intervention Skills of Professional Firefighters" (Improving the intervention skills of professional firefighters).

The launch conference was held on December 9, 2025 in Galați, Romania, where representatives of partner institutions from both the Republic of Moldova and Romania participated. 

The event marks the beginning of a cross-border initiative dedicated to increasing the capacity to respond to emergency situations in the border area between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the project aims to strengthen the professional training of firefighters, improve the interoperability of intervention structures and increase the level of protection of the population and cultural heritage in the region.

during the conference, the specific objectives of the project were presented, which include updating the common emergency response procedure, purchasing specialized equipment, increasing the operational capacities of the partner structures and organizing a joint training exercise. More discussions highlighted  the strategic role of the project in strengthening the resilience of the communities in the eligible area and in developing a common system of effective and coordinated response in cross-border emergency situations.

The implementation of this project will directly contribute to increasing the safety of citizens, through investments in modern technology, the development of professional skills and the strengthening of collaboration between the intervention structures of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, for a faster and more efficient response to natural and technological risks.

The project is financed by the European Union through the Instrument for Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation (NDICI), within the Interreg NEXT Program Romania - Republic of Moldova 2021-2027, Priority 1 - Green Communities, Specific Objective 1.1 "Promoting adaptation to climate change, disaster risk prevention and resilience".

The ROMD00073 – EnIS project is implemented between 23.08.2025 and 22.08.2027 and has a total budget of 1,539,005.49 euros.
