IGSU hosted the Danish delegation in the presence of the Ambassador of Denmark to the Republic of Moldova, Søren Jensen

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations hosted an official delegation from Denmark, an event held in the presence of the Resident Ambassador of Denmark to the Republic of Moldova, Søren Jensen.

the meeting took place on November 24, 2025 and represented an important step in strengthening the collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Denmark in the field of civil protection and response to emergency situations.

during the discussions, the parties advanced possibilities for cooperation, the exchange of experience and best practices in the management of exceptional situations, as well as the development of joint training and technical support programs.

the head of IGSU, colonel of internal affairs Aurel Baciu welcomed the collaboration initiative, specifying that it aims to strengthen resilience and increase the institution's capacities in emergency situations. At the same time, the official noted that this partnership will provide the opportunity to modernize equipment, improve procedures and train IGSU employees for complex interventions.

For his part, Ambassador Søren Jensen thanked for the warm welcome and expressed his appreciation for the flexibility and professionalism of the Moldovan firefighters. The official emphasized that, in the field of population assistance, both sides speak the same language, namely the commitment to provide effective aid in crisis situations. The ambassador reiterated the hope for a long collaboration and joint efforts to promote security values.

during the meeting, the officials discussed the purchase and delivery of equipment for Moldovan firefighters and rescuers, as well as the future organization of two training sessions, including trainings for Moldovan trainers.

It was also mentioned the possibility of holding an official reception ceremony for the first batch of equipment, which will include 220 sets of intervention equipment for firefighters, as well as compressed air apparatus. The lot, worth approximately 800 thousand euros, is to be delivered at the end of January - the beginning of February 2026.

during the visit, His Excellency paid a visit to the Central Dispatch of the IGSU, where the delegation was familiarized with the operation of the operational systems, as well as the procedures for monitoring and managing the forces and means of the IGSU in the central area in case of emergency situations.

The "Danish initiative for civil protection in the Republic of Moldova 2025-2028" project is implemented by the Danish Emergency Situations Agency and provides for the purchase of equipment, training of personnel, strengthening of the prevention and response system, as well as improvement of inter-institutional coordination. The total value of the project is 3,500,000 euros.

The purpose of the cooperation is to strengthen the capabilities of the Republic of Moldova in the field of civil protection and response to crisis situations, contributing to increasing the country's resilience in the face of natural disasters, those caused by man, as well as emerging hybrid threats in the field of civil protection.
