IGSU employees participated in the opening conference of the cross-border project ROMD00024 – C TRAINED "Cross Border Joint Training"
On November 11, 2025, the employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the MAI participated in the opening conference of the cross-border project ROMD00024 - C TRAINED "Cross Border Joint Training", held in the city of Iași, Romania.
The purpose of the project is to improve the joint response to emergency situations in the cross-border area, by developing the professional skills of rescuers and strengthening cooperation between intervention structures from Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
Through the implementation of the project, joint training courses will be organized, procedures for monitoring and notification of emergency situations will be developed, as well as joint curricula will be developed for extinguishing fires in residential buildings. At the same time, 12 training sessions will be held for intervention personnel and specialized equipment necessary for operative interventions will be purchased.
The project partnership is coordinated by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Romania, as the Lead Partner, in collaboration with the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations "Mihail Sturdza" of Iasi county and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Moldova.
The opening event was organized by IGSU Romania and hosted by ISU "Mihail Sturdza" Iasi. The conference was attended by Mr. Ion COȘER, the Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Iași, Mr. Colonel Alin MAGHIAR, head of the Directorate of Projects with External Financing within IGSU Romania, representatives of the county and local authorities, as well as project partners.
On behalf of the Republic of Moldova, Lieutenant-Colonel Igor CALANCEA, deputy head of the Căuşeni Regional Emergency Situations Directorate, took part, who emphasized the importance of joint training and collaboration between rescuers on both banks of the Prut, to increase the capacity to intervene in case of emergencies.
The project is financed by the European Union through the Instrument for Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation (NDICI), within the Interreg NEXT Romania–Republic of Moldova Program 2021–2027, with the priority "Green Communities" and the specific objective of promoting adaptation to climate change, preventing disaster risks and strengthening ecosystem-based resilience.
The ROMD00024 – C TRAINED project has a total value of approximately 1.6 million euros, of which 1.4 million euros represents non-refundable funding. The implementation period is 24 months, between July 15, 2025 and July 14, 2027.
Through this partnership, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations reaffirms its commitment to strengthen cross-border cooperation, develop intervention capacities and improve the professional training of rescuers, in order to protect the lives and property of citizens.
