Firefighters' intervention following a traffic accident in Edineț district

in the afternoon of October 20, 2025, the rescuers from the north of the country were requested to intervene to carry out extrication work following a traffic accident. The case took place in Chiurt village, Edineț district. The call to Service 112 was received at 15:47.

According to the recorded information, the driver of a BMW car skidded and crashed into a tree. A team of firefighters and rescuers intervened on the scene. When they arrived, they determined that the driver was stuck inside the car. IGSU employees managed to extract the person, a 31-year-old man. Later, he, in a conscious state, was taken over by the Emergency Medical Service and transported to the district hospital for intensive medical care. The cause and circumstances of the accident are to be determined by the competent authorities.

According to IGSU, in the last 24 hours rescuers and firefighters intervened in 28 risky situations.
