Fire at the asylum of the elderly in the village of Caprești, Florești district - intervention according to the increased level of IGSU firefighters

on the morning of October 8, 2025, IGSU firefighters intervened, according to the increased level of intervention, in the Floresti district, the village of Caprești, to extinguish the fire that included a separate building on the territory of the elderly asylum.

The call to service 112 was received at 11:24. According to the information recorded, dense smoke was observed under the roof of the building. Seven special intervention vehicles with a number of 20 IGSU employees arrived.

Arriving, IGSU employees have established that the fire affected the roof of the hall of festivities located on the asylum. For the management of the intervention, the General Staff was created, and the IGSU forces and means intervened on three fighting sectors.

Due to the operative intervention inside the building, a person was evacuated. At the time of the fire, other people housed in the asylum were not inside the affected building. Victims have not been reported.

The firefighters managed to promptly detect the outbreak, and the flames affected about 120 m² of the building's surface. The burning was located at 12:46. The increased level of intervention has been canceled.

The IGSU number trained on the spot continues to work for the liquidation of burning.

The cause and circumstances of the outbreak of the fire are to be established by specialists.
