The explosion of a water heating installation in the stove took the life of one man, and another was hospitalized in serious condition. The case took place in the evening of December 14, 2025, in a house in Ciorescu commune, Chisinau municipality. The call to Service 112 was received at 18:09.

According to the information, the explosion occurred at the heating stove, where a water heat exchanger was installed. As a result of the explosion, the stove, part of the ceiling of the house and the window of the kitchen were damaged.

following the incident, the owner of the household, a 56-year-old man, died on the spot. At the same time, another 40-year-old man suffered various injuries and was taken over by the Emergency Medical Service, being transported to the hospital in serious condition. There was no fire in the house.

following the research carried out, IGSU specialists have preliminarily established that the explosion was caused by non-compliance with the rules of fire protection when using the heating stove, most likely due to its overloading.

in this context, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations urges citizens to strictly follow the safety rules when using heating sources, not to overload stoves and avoid dangerous improvisations.

in case of risk situations, firefighters and rescuers recommend calling 112 immediately.
