An explosion occurred in Soldănești district after the owner used gasoline to light the fire in the stove

An explosion occurred in the village of Curătura, Șoldănești district, after the owner used gasoline to light the fire in the stove. The call to Service 112 was received at 12:36.

According to the first information,  the explosion occurred inside the home when the 46-year-old man poured gasoline into the stove to light the fire. As a result of the explosion, he suffered second degree burns on his upper limbs and thighs. The victim was taken by the medical team and transported to the district hospital, his condition being qualified as medium-stable. There was no fire in the house.

following the research carried out, it was established that the most likely cause of the incident is non-compliance with fire protection rules when operating the stove. 

in this context, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations warns the population about the importance of complying with safety and fire prevention rules. Specialists warn that the use of easily flammable liquids, such as gasoline, oil or lamp gas, to light the fire in the stove is strictly prohibited, as it can cause fires or explosions with serious consequences for health and life.

According to IGSU,  since the beginning of 2025, 246 fires caused by the use of stoves have been recorded.
