Exchange of experience between the IGSU of the MAI and the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Response in Germany
between October 20-24, 2025, a delegation of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the MAI, led by Alexandr Tatarov, deputy head of the IGSU, is making a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
During the experience exchange, visits are made to the headquarters of the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Response (BBK) and the Federal Agency for Technical Assistance (THW) in the city of Bonn, as well as visits to the rescue and fire departments in the cities of Bonn and Dortmund.
During the visit, specialists from the Republic of Moldova participate in experience exchange sessions regarding the attraction and implementation of projects financed by the European Commission, the preparation of intervention teams for international missions, the way of organization and operation of intervention subdivisions and cooperation with volunteer teams, activities in the field of CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear), as well as other fields of prevention, preparedness and response under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
during the official meeting between the deputy head of the IGSU and the management of the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Response (BBK), it was planned to launch a new joint investment project in protective equipment for the personnel of the Republic of Moldova, with a total value of 1.2 million euros for the years 2026-2027, financed by the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs of Germany.
At the same time, a trilateral exchange of good practices was held between IGSU, BBK and representatives of the State Rescue and Fire Service of Ukraine, where the achievements and future priorities in the context of participation in international missions, methods of prevention, preparation and response in case of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) accidents were presented. Also, the recent legislative amendments, made in accordance with international standards, aimed at improving the response capacity and protection of the population of the Republic of Moldova, were presented.
The event takes place within the Expert Exchange Program of the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union and aims to exchange good practices and strengthen international cooperation.
