Complex applications to civil protection held in Falesti district

During the day of September 26, 2025, complex applications for civil protection were held in Falesti district.

The main purpose of these exercises is to practice, perfect and strengthen the response and intervention capabilities of the governing bodies and the forces of civil protection in case of exceptional situations with a major impact on the population and infrastructure.
According to the scenario, this morning there was a devastating earthquake on the territory of the country, which generated major infrastructure damage, interruptions of communications, fires, but also accidents with multiple victims. 
For the efficient management of the created situation, the commission for exceptional situations was convened, responsible for coordinating the forces and means involved in liquidating the consequences of the earthquake.
The first tactical situation was simulated at a multi -storey housing block in the city of Falesti. According to the scenario, following the earthquake, the gas pipe of the block was badly damaged, causing an explosion. The formations of the civil protection, in cooperation with the specialized teams, intervened promptly for the search, rescue and unlocking of people from the upper floors. 
At the same time, the firefighters intervened promptly to extinguish the burning outbreaks that broke out after the deflagration. Moreover, the specialized services carried out works to remedy the failures that occurred on electrical and communications networks.
Another tactical situation was simulated at an industrial enterprise, seriously affected by the earthquake. As a result of the earthquake, several people remained blocked both inside the building and under rubble. In this regard, the intervention teams carried out complex search, rescue and evacuation operations of the victims.  

Also, in the applications, a road accident was simulated with the involvement of several means of transport, a soldier with multiple victims. Thus, the response and intervention capabilities of the formations of the district civil protection were practiced, which cooperated with the rescuers, the doctors and the police in order to liquidate the consequences of the accident. At the scene were carried out works to unload the victims, to carry out the pre -hospital triage, as well as to provide the medical aid to the victims and to transport them to the district hospital. 

Moreover, the scenario also provided the simulation of a vegetation fire, burst into the territory of an enterprise. The fire had a major risk of extension to the constructions located in the perimeter of the company, requiring a rapid and coordinated intervention. Thus, the people's officials, in cooperation with the specialized teams and the formations of civil protection, acted for the liquidation of the burning outbreaks, but also for the evacuation and rescue of the employees in the risk area.

An important action was simulated in the village of Navîrneț, where, following the earthquake, landslides occurred. 125 damaged houses were reported, and several people were stuck under the rubble. The intervention included unlocking the damaged roads, saving and evacuating persons, animals and material goods from the affected housing. Moreover, temporary shelter points were arranged and products of strict necessity were distributed for the sinister.
Also, the applications also included the simulation of a large flood. At the national level, the significant increase in the volume of water in the Prut River was reported. In all the districts located on the lower course of the river, an increase in the water level, with an imminent risk of flooding in the Prut meadow, was forecasted.
As a preventive measure, actions were carried out to organize the evacuation of the population from the areas exposed to risk, as well as operations of rescue and evacuation of the sinister persons, animals and material goods.
The applications were organized in accordance with the Government Decision no. 850/2024 and are part of the calendar plan on the preparation in the field of civil protection of the Republic of Moldova for 2025.
We mention that such applications are carried out in each district every five years, with the main objective to raise the level of preparation of the governing bodies and the forces of civil protection for efficient intervention in exceptional situations.
