Complex applications to civil protection held in Drochia district
Today, October 10, 2025, in the Drochia district were carried out complex applications for civil protection with the generic "The actions of the governing bodies and the forces of the civil protection of the Drochia district in the liquidation of the earthquake consequences, the massive combustion of the dry vegetation, the production damage and the epizooties".
According to the scenario, in the morning of the day there was an earthquake at about 200 km of district, causing collapses of housing blocks and individual houses, deterioration of roads and road accidents with multiple victims, as well as damage to communication lines, electricity and gas. The emergency services were lifted on the alert, the commission of exceptional situations being convened and instituted the point of conducting the actions.
The first tactical exercise was carried out in the village of Şuri, where the formations of civil protection intervened to liquidate the consequences of partial collapse of a housing block with the outbreak of a fire. Rescuers and firefighters were requested to common with the formations of civil protection for the evacuation of blocked persons, providing the first aid to the victims.
At the same time, the formations of civil protection was simulated the appearance of an outbreak of African swine fever on a farm here the institutions responsible, conducted research procedures, establishing the origin of the infection and evacuating the people from the contaminated area.
Moreover, the formations of civil protection intervened following an improvised road accident on the R-12 Drochia-Dondușeni route. The medical crews, together with the police and the IGSU employees, where they worked side by side to save the victims. On the spot, the injured persons received first medical aid and were transported to the district hospital, where the doctors were trained to organize the pre -hospital medical triage for efficient management of the patients.
The scenario also included the simulation of a vegetation fire in Sofia commune, caused by the collapse of an electric pillar and the short circuit of the electric wires. The civil protection formations intervened to extinguish the fire, the evacuation of the inhabitants and the rescue of the material goods, and the medical teams provided first aid to the people who received intoxication with the combustion products.
Also, a field camp was organized, where following the consequences of the earthquake, 40 people who were left homeless were accommodated and insured with food and first necessity.
The applications were organized in accordance with the Government Decision no. 850/2024 and are part of the calendar plan for training in the field of civil protection of the Republic of Moldova for 2025.
Civil protection applications aim to prepare the PC formations for efficient reaction in case of exceptional situations and to strengthen their cooperation between emergency services and local public authorities to ensure a coordinated and efficient response in case of exceptional situations.
