Children's Safety Lessons - IGSU continues instruction in schools and kindergartens
The General Inspectorate for Continuous Emergency Situations, at national level, the information and training activities in the field of life security bases in the educational institutions throughout the country.
The main purpose of these actions is to increase the rank of awareness and develop the ability to react to children in risk situations, so that the little ones know how to protect themselves and act correctly in the face of dangers.
Through interactive training and practical exercises, rescuers teach students to react correctly in case of emergencies. At the same time, through simple examples, clear explanations and educational games, children are guided by firefighters to recognize the risks and adopt appropriate behaviors in various exceptional situations, such as fires, earthquakes or other risk situations.
within the trainings IGSU employees addresses more themes, including:
• Correct calling of emergency services;
• identifying and avoiding dangers in the environment, at school and at home;
• providing first aid to people in health difficulty;
• the correct use of extinguishers and other primary means of intervention;
• Evacuation measures in case of fire or earthquake.
The students also participate in evacuation exercises, practicing the necessary steps for fast and safe leaving the buildings, under the supervision of firefighters and teachers. These simulations contribute to the formation of useful skills and to the development of the spirit of team cooperation.
between 02-08 October 2025, rescuers visited 71 institutions, training 7 448 students and 769 teachers. Also, in 42 schools, practical evacuation exercises were organized, involving 7 917 students, 756 teachers and 383 members of the auxiliary staff.
These activities will continue throughout the school year, with the purpose not only the prevention, but also the formation of a safety culture, which the students will transmit to the family and community.
