Citizens from 12 localities in Dubasari district and adjacent areas will feel more protected after completing the construction of the new rescue and firefighters unit at Holercani
The citizens of Holercani and the neighborhood localities will be more protected with the completion of the building of the new unity of independent energy and firefighters, which will have an essential role in increasing the reaction and response capacity.
Today, September 9, 2025, the official ceremony dedicated to the start of the construction of the unit of energy rescuers and firefighters from the town of Holercani, Dubasari district was held. The event was attended by Mrs. Daniella Misail-Nichitin, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, the management of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, as well as the representatives of the Construction Company.
On this symbolic occasion, the first excavation was carried out on the land of the future unit, to be built through a project with an estimated value of 8 million 900 thousand lei, financed from the state budget and the fund for reintegration. The common effort emphasizes its double role: both in ensuring the essential services for the citizens of the region, and in promoting the cohesion and stability in the localities in the security area.
The completion and exploitation of the unit are expected for 2026.
in his speech, Mrs. Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin emphasized the strategic importance of this project in strengthening public safety and protecting the life and property of citizens. It reaffirmed the commitment of the Government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the continuous modernization of the intervention services in emergency situations, to increase the safety of citizens.
The new unit of rescuers and firefighters from Holercani will serve 12 localities in Dubasari district and adjacent areas, offering fast and efficient interventions in case of fires, accidents and other emergency situations. With a number of 10 specialized employees, the unit will have the ability to act promptly and coordinated in case of exceptional situations.
By building this modern unit, it is directly aimed at the significant reduction of the response time, which can make the difference between life and death in critical cases. Rapid interventions will contribute decisively to limiting material damages, but especially to saving human lives.
The building will be equipped with modern spaces, adapted to the current needs of the intervention crews, including for the storage of the specialized equipment and technique. This will allow a more efficient organization of the operative activity and will contribute to a safe, functional and comfortable working environment for rescuers and firefighters.
The fundamental purpose of the project is to increase the public security for all the residents of Holercani and the neighboring localities, through an infrastructure that allows prompt and professional interventions.
The construction of this unit is part of the authorities' efforts to strengthen the civil protection infrastructure, in full compliance with the national and European standards, and represents a concrete step towards a safer future for the communities in the Dubasari district.
